I will peck your face off

Description

I just started taking a photography class that I am so excited about! I think it's going to give me the knowledge and motivation to improve my landscapes that I've been wanting for so long.
Buuut it's a firehose of information and I'm taking it slow to absorb all of it as effectively as possible. Sharing some silly photos of daily life in the meantime.

Here are 2 of my 4 chickens. I can't tell them apart, so they are all collectively called Henrietta. Instead of gingerly taking the feed from my hand like when they were chicks, she went right through it and pecked the crap out of my hand. Jerk. But I haven't had to buy eggs in a long time, so they're worth it :D

The angle and focus of this image truly allows the viewer to feel as though they are feeding Henrietta themselves. Your work always captures a unique perspective and this is a wonderful example of that.
Additionally, the contrast between the chickens, the ground, and the darkened edges of the image combined with your arm pointing to the chicken as you feed her is an amazing use of artistic qualities to create a focal point. Henrietta is dark in comparison with most of the image and your arm allows for a convenient line of focus as the eye travels from Henrietta, to your hand, up your arm, and back.
The focus of the image is very well done as well, allowing us to see so much detail of Henrietta's feathers and beak as she stared you down for her food.
This image invokes memories of watching the Wizard of Oz as a child, and I think it's awesome that your work can bring about such memories because connections like these keep people coming back to view more of your gorgeous work.
You did a lovely job on this photo.
