R.I.P.Here lies:
Lost Dignity;
Buried at the expense of
those brave few who found something
better.

The Forest Told the SkyThe storm came in, and through the tow'ring trees
He saw a sky he'd never see again

The air above the dampened earth grew thin
Panic trailed his spine from tremb'ling knees
Leaf lined curtains danced upon the wind

His bare feet ran as fast as they could flee
The forest told the sky of where he'd been

Those Eyes So BlueHe walks stone streets, becoming his disguise,
skin of spiderwebs beneath his eyes;
those eyes so blue, Sinatra's can't compare;
those eyes so blue, they slice through thick gray air.

He walks stone streets, becoming his disguise;
shadows of cement trail close behind.
His story isn't one they've never known,
but so familiar, it would hurt to hear it told.

He walks stone streets, blue eyes laden with sin,
who share their secrets only with the wind.
Those eyes so blue, would never dare to speak;
those eyes so blue, saw murder on these streets.

Skin of spiderwebs beneath his eyes,
he walks stone streets, becoming his disguise.

StormWayward waters, one with sun,
dance in daylight's cloudless calm;
until letters encased in raindrops
penetrate like windblown bombs.

No thoughts of solace, dreams of hope
shall assuage this hurricane.
Abrasive seas, uprooted trees
see desperate words form in the rain.

And when the raging waves subside,
the only remnants of the storm
are sea-foam sprinkled sentences
who find each other washed ashore.

Can't decide how I feel about this, particularly the color content, which I messed with extensively but couldn't make up my mind on.

Anywho, hearing feedback about my work makes me super insanely happy and if you do so I might make you cookies and eat them in your honor!

I love the color scheme in this. The focus in this creates a very surreal atmosphere. Quickly looking at this, I thought it was space with some sort of ship or creature or something (I'm a big space fanatic, so that might also be a part of that). The lighting just gives these plants a life of it's own. The photograph has a beautiful personality. The only reason I downgraded the originality stars a bit was because these kind of plants are the subject of many photographs now--not your fault, but unfortunately reality now--at least on dA. But I didn't fully downgrade it, because I haven't quite seen one like this--most of them have really bright colors and unremarkably sharp. I like the way this one is with the focus. Very interesting and not lifeless like I think some of the others are. I really love this photograph. I think it's a great example of how you can "set the mood" so to speak. Great Job.

They do look like fireworks, don't they? Someone else pointed that out to me as well, I never would've noticed it!

I'm amazed at how many times I will review a photo and find much more in it that I originally noticed. So...am I just naturally good at photography, or trying to convince myself my photos are better than they really are?
