No WordsThere are no words for how it feels
to dance in the kitchen at two in the morning,
with a body you've come to know so well
you could map a tangled trail through
it's freckles;
and though the window
beyond the crowded countertop
reveals distant, flickering lights,
you are still quite certain that you are
the only two people
in the world.

It is truly indescribable,
to lay awake in a cluttered room
as silence pours relentlessly from every
dust-laden crevice,
and feel a familiar warmth swallow you whole
until you are eternally lost
in its arms,
as if you'd sunk a straw into the sun
and claimed it as your own.

Look at this guy! Doesn't he look delightfully fiery?
Unfortunately my shutter speed was a little too slow when I shot this, so it was a bit overexposed. Some of the colors/details are now a little washed our from editing, but I didn't think it was all that bad.

All constructive criticism is very greatly appreciated!

How'd ya DO that?! That fire effect through the wings is awesome! What camera do you use?

Haha, by using a wide aperture and editing contrast! I actually overexposed it a little bit by accident which ended up adding to the firey effect, it was completely unintentional, but I guess it ended up making the photo better!

I use a Nikon D3000, this photo was taken with a 60mm Nikon macro lens.
