Whelp, I forced myself to get something that I was at least kind of happy with. Wish I could have done something a bit more original, but books are really the only photogenic thing in this house at the moment, and it is way too stormy to venture out and look for more interesting things.
Not super brilliant, but it has been months since I've done photography and it is a small step out of my rut! Also I'm realizing now that it's probably way way too saturated... but I will tend to that later.
All constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
Since I follow your work, and know what you're going through at the moment, this photo tells a lot.
Technically, it's a nice photo. I like how you controlled the depth of field to make what's on the page a bit of a mystery. Heavy on the blue tones...
It's very similar to the other one you did with all the stars, which in my opinion is a brilliant work! One of my favorites. But now the stars are gone...this book is a lot older and obviously well-used. Pages are stained and the spine is worn. This is a book that has been well-used.
Now what is that on the pages....doesn't look like words...MUSIC! An old song book with some songs that make you happy or less lonely? I can totally relate.
But it's not entirely a sad, brooding photo. The bright colors in the background show you know there's brighter things ahead.
Excellent shot! I'm always in awe of your photography.
First of all, the bokeh really adds to this shot! Instead of a boring blue background, you've got multiple colors and shades to spice it up a little and make the photo more visually appealing. It's positioned very nicely around the pages, too!
I also like the composition, and how the lines from the pages seem to lead your eye through the photo. Very nice!
I must admit, I wish the focus was a bit more on the turning page, instead of the bottom ones. Perhaps having some of the words in focus would be cool, too! Something to make the photo a little more original - there are a lot of shots out there like this.
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment and feedback! I agree, this is a pretty commonly done concept, I might mess with it some more to try to find a more original way of doing it. I will keep what you said about the focus in mind as well!
Thanks again, I really truly appreciate you taking the time to comment!
