I went out to see some birdies today, but I couldn't find any birdies and found weird yellow plant things instead.
I'd appreciate feedback on this, I messed around forever with the background and finally settled on complimentary colors but I just can't tell if it looks too weird or not...
All constructive criticism is greatly appreciated!
It does feel a bit surreal in terms of the... hue?
I really do like the shot, though. I think the lighting is brilliant and it's pretty awesome how you have framed it as well. The thing I like most about it is the depth of field... mostly because the main subject matter stands out so starkly there.
Colours are great, anyway, and... yeah, I feel as if this is similar to something from the sea or something? At least, it gives me that impression.
yeah the hue is definitely quite edited... I wanted to make the yellow stand out more, but I couldn't tell if it looked too cheesy and unnatural. I actually thought it looked kind of like a sea plant too! Still not sure exactly what this thing is, it was an interesting find. Thanks as always!
I like this so much, I would hang it on my wall, super seriously. It's one of those that I keep in my inbox so I can come back and look at it Send me a print! Only thing that bothers me is the out-of-focus bit in the top left corner, it's a bit heavy. It'd be better if the gradation between in/out of focus had been a bit more subtle there, or just more of it in focus. Other than that, awesome!
haha, well thank you! I wonder why that is.. maybe because it looks vaguely like some sort of undersea plant thingy... Yeah I tend to lean waay too much towards shallow focus areas. Trying to break myself of that habit.
I like it, it's slightly weird but definitely in a good way The one blue plant/line in the background (top center) is a bit distracting from the rest of the piece though.
thank you so so much for pointing out that weird little blue line, I can't believe I didn't notice it! I have edited it out. Thanks bunches for the kind words!
